Generali Italia, with the Innovation Park the future is now

The innovation hub was inaugurated in Mogliano Veneto, in the headquarters of Generali Italia, for a total investment of 150 million over three years: over 5.000 mXNUMX of space for developing ideas, projects and digital technologies and designing the best customer and market agents, operating in startup mode.

The model is that of the nearby H-Farm, a well-known startup incubator in the province of Treviso, but the Innovation Park inaugurated today at the Generali Italia headquarters in Mogliano Veneto goes beyond the concept of technological innovation tout court, aiming broadly at a new concept of company and a new relationship with the customer. “The world is changing too fast – said the CEO of Generali Italia Marco Sesana -: this project is above all a necessity, even if our goal is to go beyond the current market standards”.

And so in the six "houses", as the president of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia calls them approvingly, present at the inauguration, which arise in the 5.000 square meter park around the Generali Italia headquarters (while the Holding is in Trieste and the financial headquarters in Milan), there is everything: Artificial Intelligence, innovative interaction channels, advanced connectivity devices, process digitization, Big Data and new ways of working to offer customers and agents the best experience on the insurance market.

In the 6 thematic houses (they are deliberately called that, it was decided not to make this word English too) new prototypes and new digital technologies (devices and software) are tested in the field, in startup mode, for the development of new insurance solutions. Here si
redesign all phases of the insurance business, from the design of the new policies, to the services, to the new spaces of the Agencies and to the methods of relating with customers. With a deadline set in 447 days, i.e. 31 December 2018, when the three-year plan, costing a total of 150 million, will end.

“Simplifying and Innovating – explained Sesana to journalists, employees and stakeholders – are the drivers of our Strategy to continue to be market leader and offer our customers and agents the best insurance experience. For us, innovation has a clear meaning: develop new digital technologies, introduce new ways of working, be open to the outside world and involve our people. In 2016 we launched the simplification program, an investment of 150 million euros and the involvement of over 500 people over three years to redesign key processes. Today we are halfway through the simplification program and ready to accelerate on Innovation".

The six houses

- I 2 G-Innovation lab, are the two houses where the new "prototypes" will be tested and the potential of new technologies for the development of the insurance offer and services will be investigated: artificial intelligence, new interaction channels such as chatbots, advanced connectivity devices, virtual reality.

- The Simplification lab where work will be done, as part of the simplification programme, to define and manage the best customer experience and customer journey. The space will also host focus groups and workshops with clients and agents.

- The G-Hall: the Agency of the future is the space where, together with the agents, the evolution of the agency spaces, of the supports and of the solutions dedicated to the communication of the offer and the relationship with the customer will be defined.

– The Innovation park is completed with two spaces dedicated to 15 employees and collaborators. Energy lab, the corporate welfare house, is the space dedicated to health and well-being where everyone can monitor their state of health, through specialist visits and sports activities - Generali Italia is among the first companies in Italy to introduce a dedicated to energy – and the Pop-up Store, a temporary shop dedicated to employees.
