Generali Italia: Boccardo new CEO of Genagricola

Igor Boccardo is the new CEO of Genagricola, the agri-food holding of Generali Italia.

Born in Turin in 1969, Boccardo arrives at Genagricola after an experience gained as marketing and sales manager and general manager in multinationals active in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector.

"We are pleased to welcome Igor to the Genagricola team, certain that his experience and skills gained over the course of his career will guide the company towards new ambitious goals, allowing Genagricola to represent a point of reference in the panorama of Italian agriculture" , comments Giancarlo Fancel, president of Genagricola.

The Genagricola group is made up of 25 farms for a total of 15.000 hectares of land between Italy and Romania, of which 900 are planted with vineyards and located in Veneto, Friuli, Piedmont, Emilia Romagna, Lazio and Romania.

The company, engaged in the sectors of herbaceous crops, livestock, viticulture, the production of renewable energy and forestry, closed 2018 with a turnover of 56 million euros deriving 60% from traditional agricultural production and from 'energy generated by the two proprietary biomass power plants, while 40% from wine production, with over 4 million bottles distributed throughout the world through 8 brands.
