Generals: Greco out immediately, all powers in Galateri

The CEO Mario Greco leave immediately Generali and its role will be performed on an interim basis by the president Gabriele Galateri of Genola. This was decided by the group's Board of Directors, which yesterday approved "the consensual termination of relations" with the CEO, with "immediate effect", and "resolved to temporarily assign to the president" Galateri di Genola the powers already attributed to Greco. The board has also decided to appoint the Nomination and Corporate Governance Committee to prepare the process for the selection of candidates to succeed the CEO. In pole position is the Frenchman Philippe Donnet, now CEO of Generali Italia.

“We thank Dr. Greco for the commitment with which he has managed the transformation of the Group over the past four years – said the chairman Galateri – today Generali is a large company focused on the insurance core business and has a solid financial and equity structure. We will continue to pursue our growth and development objectives in all the markets in which we operate, also thanks to a team of managers of undisputed quality and competence and a strong organizational structure”.

Greco had communicated on January 26 his unavailability for another mandate as Group CEO. On the same day, the Zurich group announced its appointment as CEO effective May 380.868st. The current mandate of Greco, who also held the position of chairman of the Investment Committee in Generali and owns 28 shares of the group, expired on XNUMX April.

For the time being, the board has not set any deadlines for defining Greco's succession. Yesterday, Generali shares closed down by 4,05%, at 11,38 euros.
