Philippe Donnet, Corsican thoroughbred, current CEO of Generali Italia and always close to the financier Vincent Bollorè (influential shareholder of Vivendi, Mediobanca and Generali themselves), will be the new head of Generali who will succeed Mario Greco, who moved to Zurich: he is this is the indication that emerged from the nomination committee chaired by Gabriele Galateri who forwarded the nomination to the board of directors of the Lion of Trieste which will formalize the appointment next Thursday.
In all probability the current CFO, Alberto Minali, will be the new general manager of Generali.
The real game now opens on Donnet's succession at the helm of Generali Italia: it is probable that an internal designation will be reached such as that of top managers of the caliber of Andrea Mencattini or Davide Passero but some shareholders, including Caltagirone and Mediobanca, would not disdain the call of Carlo Cimbri, current CEO of Unipol.
Generali flies to the Stock Exchange and earns 6,48% less than an hour after the closing, almost 14 euros per share.
