British fashion designer Justin Smith is the winner of the “Generali Future Award” 2016, the prize that Generali assigns to a young talent who combines creativity with business ability.

British fashion designer Justin Smith is the winner of the “Generali Future Award” 2016, the prize that Generali assigns to a young talent who combines creativity with business ability. The Award, now in its second edition, will be awarded on 16 July in Trieste during the final evening of ITS (International Talent Support).

 "We want to support talents capable of having innovative ideas and making them real - said Simone Bemporad, Group Director of Communications and Public Affairs of Generali - Generali has always been committed to studying and offering products and services that improve quality of people's lives, invests in innovation and in the ability to do business”.

Justin Smith, English, 38 years old, chosen among the finalists of the past editions of ITS, the international talent scouting platform, best represents this project. Distinguished by his innovative and experimental vision, he will receive a cash prize and insurance coverage.

A graduate of the Royal College of Art with an MA in millinery, Justin Smith created the J Smith Esquire label. He has collaborated with brands such as Stella McCartney, Moschino, Manish Arora and Aganovich. Justin Smith passionately upholds the tradition of millinery, redefining the concept of classic headwear, challenging conventions and manufacturing techniques.

J Smith Esquire's work includes a prestigious portfolio of clients spanning many industries, including motion picture. For example, he collaborated on 'Maleficent' by making Angelina Jolie's iconic headdress.

In 2015, the year of its first edition, the Award was assigned to the designer Aitor Throup.
