The insurance company Generali communicated that the French manager Frederic de Courtois, General Manager of the winged Lion group, was appointed vice president of Insurance Europe, the European association representing insurance and reinsurance companies, for a three-year term. De Courtois began his professional career in the insurance sector in 1993, over time holding numerous positions in different markets around the world.

Commenting on the appointment of de Courtois, Andreas Brandstetter, President of Insurance Europe and CEO and President of UNIQA Insurance Group, said: “I am delighted to welcome Frédéric to this important role. Frédéric has a very in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry and I look forward to collaborating with him in the task of representing our sector”.

Frédéric de Courtois was elected at the General Assembly of Insurance Europe which was held in Bucharest. He succeeds Torbjörn Magnusson, Group CEO and President of Sampo Insurance Group. Brandstetter added: “I would like to thank Tornbjörn for the significant contribution he has made to our industry over the past six years. His commitment was directed in particular to the area of ​​new technologies and their impact on insurance companies. We want to thank him for leading these elements of debate within Insurance Europe”.

Commenting on his appointment, de Courtois said: “I am honored to be elected Vice President and to be called upon to represent the European insurance industry, which makes a major contribution to our society and economy. I will work diligently to ensure that insurers' regulatory frameworks reflect their business model and enable them to deliver the best outcomes for their customers."
