Generali: with Nest new safe home policy

The Leone group will offer its customers home coverage policies in the event of damage, including Nest Protect, the smoke and carbon monoxide detector, produced by the Alphabet-Google group company. Debut in Germany

Generali and Nest Labs, a company of the Alphabet-Google group and creator of the smart home, have announced a collaboration to create a unique offer dedicated to customers of home insurance policies in Europe. The agreement, states a press release from Generali, goes in the direction of a further step forward for Generali in the innovation of home automation.

Through the agreement with Nest, Generali customers will be able to reduce the possibility of suffering damage to their family and home. In fact, the agreement provides for the use of Nest Protect, both the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, by sending the notification to customers' smartphones and providing information in writing and in colour. The home insurance policy will provide coverage to the property in the event of damage and precisely includes the new device to protect the home.
The partnership will be launched in Germany from the end of February 2017, where CosmosDirekt – the leading direct insurer in the country – will offer home insurance customers the new proposal.

According to Gian Paolo Meloncelli, Generali Group Strategy & Business Transformation Accelerator, “this agreement represents
another milestone that confirms our commitment to creating value for our customers through innovation. As a leader in continental Europe we must continue to innovate to provide our customers with the best solutions. Nest will help Generali customers to have a simpler and smarter life”.
