Generali places 1% of the capital for 217 million

The Trieste-based group has placed over 15 million shares with institutional investors for a consideration of approximately 216,7 million – The new liquidity will be used to complete the acquisition of Generali Deutschland Holding.

Generali places 1% of the capital for 217 million

Assicurazioni Generali has successfully completed the placement with institutional investors of a share of approx 1% of its share capital, or 15.535.601 shares, at a price of 13,95 euro each, following an accelerated bookbuilding process. The placement was coordinated by a pool of banks made up of Bnp Paribas, MOrgan Stanley and UBS Investment Bank.

The transaction will be concluded on 15 July, the date on which the transfer of the shares and the payment of the consideration for an amount of approximately 216,7 million euros, which will lead to a 1,2% increase in Generali's Solvency I index. The new liquidity injected into the group's coffers will be used to acquire full control of Generali Deutschland Holding.

Meanwhile, in the morning the Generali share lost 1,47% to 14,04 euros per share, in line with the negative day in Piazza Affari.
