Generali in relation to the unfolding of the war in Ukraine, he decided to take some measures, emphasizing his "marginal exposure on the Russian market" as regards financial investments and the insurance business, which in any case "constantly evaluates" also in compliance with "all the sanctions that could be applied", he says in a note.

Firstly, Generali decided to close its own representative office in Moscow. He will also leave the positions held in board of Ingosstrakh, the Russian insurance company in which it holds a minority stake of 38,5%, so as to "have no influence on its business" says a note from Generali.

These are three seats occupied so far by Paolo Scaroni, Luciano Cirinnà, head of Generali's Acea area (Austria, Central Eastern Europe and Russia), and Giorgio Callegari, former number one of Generali Russia which later merged into the Acea area. Finally Generali announced that Europ Assistance, which operates in the country, will close its business.

From Generali 3 million for refugees

The Group also communicates in a note that it intends to donate 3 million euros to support refugee programs, including a donation to UNHCR, currently on the humanitarian frontline in Ukraine.

The company has also activated a fundraising campaign by Generali employees, to whose donations Generali will add a sum of the same amount. Proceeds will be donated to UNICEF to support its activities on behalf of affected families.
