Between 18 and 23 March, the Roman entrepreneur and vice president of the Trieste-based company allegedly bought 3 million Generali shares, bringing his stake to 2,83% for a total value of 40,2 million euros.

Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone continues to strengthen at Generali. In the last few days, the building contractor and vice-president of the company has purchased 3 million shares of Generali, equal to 0,19% of the capital, at prices between 13,207 and 13,540 euros, bringing his share from the previous 2,63% to 2,83% for a total value of 40,2 million euro.

Based on what is stated in the internal dealing communications, Caltagirone would have bought 1 million shares on the market at the price of 13,54 euros last 18 March, 500 thousand shares at 13,52 euros on 21 March 750 thousand shares at 13,2 euros on the 22nd and a further 750 thousand at 13,3 on 23 March. The new purchases are added to those made since February.

The purchase made in the current month strengthens the manufacturer's position as the third largest shareholder in the Generali group, behind Mediobanca, the leading shareholder with 13,28% of the capital, and Leonardo Del Vecchio's Delfin, which owns 3,18%.

Between 18 and 23 March, the vice-president also proceeded with the sale of both call and put options on Generali for approximately 1,9 million euro.
