The French banking group is thus in second place among the shareholders of the insurance company, behind Mediobanca (13,2%), but ahead of Caltagirone (3,4%) and Del Vecchio (3,16%).

Société Générale rose to 4,17% in the capital of Generali. This was stated by the French banking giant in its communications to Consob on the relevant shareholdings. The share effectively puts SocGen in second place among the insurance company's shareholders, behind Mediobanca (13,2%) and ahead of Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone (3,4%) and Leonardo Del Vecchio (3,16%).

The position of Société Générale dates back to 29 August and, moreover, results from a reduction in the share compared to the 5,82% held by the bank on 22 July last.

In detail – as stated in the communications to Consob – the current stake includes 0,9% of voting rights attributable to shares, a potential stake of 1,557% and other long positions with physical settlement of 0,352%, plus other positions long with cash settlement of 1,362%.

In the communications to Consob, SocGen also specifies the composition of the "aggregate shareholding" of 5,82% held until the end of August "directly and indirectly through four subsidiaries". Also in this case the composition is very varied.

These are "voting rights attributable to shares for 0,938%, plus a potential stake of 3,198% (shares subject to a securities lending contract with the possibility of repayment at any time that do not provide for an expiration date, SgOptionEurope zcn 5/12/ 2016 and contracts with put and call options with expirations between September 15th and December 21st 2016), plus other long positions with physical settlement for 0,323% (put options expiring between September 16th and December 17th 2016), plus other long positions with cash settlement for 1,369% (put and call contracts, put and call warrants, futures and certificates with expirations between August 19, 2016 and January 3, 2025)”.

Yesterday, Generali shares closed down by 0,78% at 11,42 euros.
