Gdf Suez sells its gas distribution network in Italy

It's now official: the French group Gdf Suez has sold its gas distribution network (G6 Rete Gas) in Italy to the Italian fund F2i and to Axa Private Equity, the Italian branch of the French insurance giant. The value of the operation, which should be finalized in the last quarter of the year, amounts to 772 million euros. G6 Rete Gas has 990 customers and has a network of 15.150 kilometres. By acquiring the company, F2i and Axa Private Equit,y already present in the sector, reach a 17% market share, placing themselves at number two in the national ranking, after Eni.
