Gazprom: Ukraine pay or we cut gas

“Ukraine has effectively stopped paying for gas. We can't deliver free gas. Either Ukraine pays off its debt and supplies in progress or there is a risk that we will return to the situation of early 2009,” said Gazprom head Alexei Miller.

Gazprom: Ukraine pay or we cut gas

Russian gas giant Gazprom has announced it could cut gas supplies to Ukraine if new authorities in Kiev fail to pay a bill that has now reached $1,89 billion. “Ukraine has effectively stopped paying for gas. We can't deliver free gas. Either Ukraine pays its debt and supplies in progress or there is a risk that we will return to the situation of early 2009” said the number one of Gazprom Alexei Miller. In 2009, Gazprom cut exports to Ukraine, also leaving Europe short of methane.
