Gaszprom intends to lower gas prices for some key partners, with a view to strengthening reciprocal relations. European buyers such as Eni, the French Gdf Suez and the German E.on Ruhrgas are among the players involved in the negotiations and could benefit from the revision of gas supply prices.
According to the words of the number two of the Russian gas giant, Aleksandr Medvedev, head of exports, "soon, by the end of the first semester, we will have a series of agreements with key partners, and these agreements will speed up the conclusion of further agreements ”.
However, Medvedev points out, "the price correction will be lower than in the previous round of negotiations, when a 7-10% reduction was established".
