A long-lasting truce for Gaza "will be signed in the next few hours". Islamic Jihad leader Khaled al-Batsh said on al-Quds radio in Gaza. "Israel has accepted the requests of the Palestinian delegation." Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh also said that "we are close to political agreements in line with the demands of our people" for a ceasefire.

Meanwhile, new rocket launches were recorded this morning from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory, as reported by the security forces of the Jewish state. Sirens have sounded in Tel Aviv, where at least one rocket has been intercepted by the Israeli defense system. Sirens have also sounded in the coastal cities of Ashkelon and Ashdod.
