Gavio wins tender for bridge over the Baltic Sea

The Group, active in the motorway concessions sector, is today the fourth operator in the world in the management of toll motorways with approximately 3.320 km of network. The company will build the new Storstrom Bridge, which will connect the islands of Zealand and Falster over the Baltic Sea and will be 6,5 km long. It will also house a double railway track

(Teleborsa) – The Gavio group, through the company Itinera, has won an important tender in Denmark for a value of 277 million euros.

The Italian company active in infrastructure will build the new one “Storstrom Bridge” as leader, with a 51% share, of a group of companies also including Condotte d'Acqua and Grandi Lavori Fincosit.

The bridge, intended to replace the old one currently being demolished, will connect the islands of Zealand and Falster on the Baltic Sea with a capacity well in excess of the old infrastructure.

The new bridge will be a total of 6,5 km long and 24 meters wide and will house a two-lane road, a double rail track for high-speed trains and a pedestrian/cycle lane.
