RTR tender: Eni withdraws, Enel-F2i getting closer and closer

Eni's step back a few days before the deadline for the offer. The giant led by Claudio Descalzi withdrew from the tender for the purchase of RTR, the solar energy assets owned by the Terra Firma fund in Italy. This was stated on July 10 by the company in a statement.

After the about-face of A2a, Erg and Mesdar, even the six-legged dog, which participated together with Qatar Petroleum, slips out of the race for the acquisition of 134 photovoltaic plants with an installed capacity of 334 MW of RTR.

Eni thus aims to move forward with its organic growth strategy, which according to the CEO's statement would be open to M&A operations in the field of renewables only in the event of more convenient market opportunities than growth by internal lines.

As for the race instead, at this point it almost seems made for EF Solare Italia, an equal joint venture between Enel Green Power and F2i, which already in recent days it had been favored by press rumors.

In an interview with FIRSTonline, Diego Percopo, CEO of EF Solare, preferred not to say too much, however confirming iThe company's strong interest in the Terra Firma plants.

Together with Enel-F2i, the Sonnedix group and Tages also remain in the game. We recall that, based on what reported by Milan Finance, The deadline for submitting offers is Thursday 12 July.
