Galsi: the debate on the installation of the gas pipeline in the Nuoro area continues

New episode of the story relating to the construction of the Galsi gas pipeline in the Nuoro area, in Sardinia. “We ask that the Giunta and the Regional Council take initiatives aimed at avoiding delays and, paradoxically, giving up on adopting a strategic infrastructure such as that of the gas pipeline. This was stated in a joint document by the Councilor for Industry of the Province of Nuoro, Costantino Tidu, the Councilor for Labor of the Municipality of Nuoro, Vincenzo Floris, the territorial general secretaries of CGIL, CISL and UIL and the President of Nuoro Confindustria who intervene on the question relating to the Algeria-Sardinia-Italy (Galsi) gas pipeline project ""While respecting everyone's decisions - they explain - we believe that the delays accumulated in the construction of this important service work must be made up for, moving forward without further setbacks or facade justifications no longer justifiable”.

The project was proposed by the European Union and constitutes the cornerstone of the methanisation program of Sardinia which currently depends 23% on coal, 2,3% on renewable energy sources and the remaining 74,7% from oil. The plan is supported by shareholders Sonatrach, Enel, Sfirs, and Gruppo Hera. Snam Rete Gas is also collaborating, which would take care of the construction and would be the operator of the Italian section of the gas pipeline. It would connect Italy to Algeria and would be used to import natural gas thanks to a capacity of 8 billion cubic meters per year.

Today the Sardinian position of the Pdl also arrived, Mauro Pili, Settimio Nizzi and Fedele Sanciu, who met the Minister of Economic Development Paolo Romani and asked to activate a preliminary dialogue with the local authorities who raised problems both as regards it concerns the area identified for the arrival of the pipeline in Sulcis and in relation to the compression station of Olbia.
