Christmas is almost here and the headquarters of Modena e Sassuolo of the Gallery Este have studied a rich calendar of events to entertain young and old throughout the holiday season.
Sunday 17 December, at 16.30 and 17.30 pm, The Este collections is the title of the guided tour of the masterpieces collected over the centuries by the Dukes of Este.
Thursday 21 December will be a long day of celebration at the Galleria Estense in Modena; it starts at 16.00, with Under the tree in the Gallery that will accompany the participants along an itinerary and that will tell the events and characters of Christmas, through the images of the masterpieces of art. At 17.00, the younger ones will have fun looking for Christmas-themed works in the Gallery, through games and skill competitions.
From 19.30 to 22.00 the Christmas Party will be held, open free of charge to all the public and offered by the Friends of the Estense Gallery Association. For the occasion, you can visit the museum accompanied by the music of the bagpipers, tasting a glass of wine.
At the service of art - from Wednesday 27 to Friday 29 December, and from Tuesday 2 to Friday 5 January 2018, from 11.00 to 18.00 - young graduates of the national civil service will be available to visitors to provide historical-artistic information on the works of the Gallery.
Christmas at Palazzo Ducale di Sassuolo (Piazzale della Rosa) will reopen on Sunday 17 December (opening 10.00-13.00 and 15.00-19.00), at 17.00, children will be able to attend the animated reading The Christmas star. History of the Fourth Wise Man, edited by Maria Giovanna Vannini; there are also three free guided visits by reservation (max 20 people) to the collections, at 10.30, 15.00 and 16.30.
Saturday 6 January: from 14.00 to 19.00, it will be possible to access the exhibition itinerary of the Gallerie Estensi in Sassuolo, with visits every 30 minutes, while Sunday 7 January, from 10.00 to 18.00, admission is free.
All the initiatives of the Estensi Galleries in Sassuolo have free admission.
