Merger with Oi, Tim Brasil denies negotiation

Telecom's Brazilian subsidiary denies the communication made this morning by its competitor Oi about "a proposal received from the Russian investment company Letter One", according to rumors, ready to invest 4 billion in the merger between Oi and Tim Brasil.

There is "no ongoing negotiation with the above parties in relation to any potential consolidation in the Brazilian market." This is what a note indicates Tim Participacoes, the Brazilian subsidiary of Telecom, which therefore denies the communication made this morning by its competitor Oi regarding "a proposal received from the Russian investment company Letter One", ready according to rumors to invest 4 billion in the context of the merger between Oi and Tim Brasil.

La news had quickly made the Telecom Italia share turn positive, which in Piazza Affari in the morning managed to gain more than 3% (reduced to +1,2% in the early afternoon, after the denial). The bottom LetterOne theoretically interested in the operation was founded and is currently chaired by Russian billionaire Mikhail Fridman who, according to Forbes magazine, has a personal fortune of 14,6 billion dollars, making him the second richest Russian in the world.
