Yesterday evening, three armed men with covered faces broke in just before the museum closed, between 19:30 and 20:17 pm, immobilizing the only security guard present, before taking away XNUMX valuable paintings, including six paintings of the Tintoretto.

In addition to the works of the Venetian Renaissance artist, paintings by Peter Paul Rubens, Pisanello, Mantegna, Jacopo Bellini, Giovanni Francesco Caroto, Hans de Jode and Giovanni Benini were stolen, for an estimated value which, overall, would be between 10 and 15 million euros.

The investigations are already underway: the Scientific Police is carrying out surveys on the spot, while the investigation has been delegated to the Carabinieri Artistic Heritage Protection Unit. In any case the Mayor Tosi he is certain that it was a job for professionals: “They knew what to get and they knew the museum. Someone sent them, because they moved with skill, going without fail".
