Le political elections of 25 September are approaching and, as per tradition, 5 million students and workers Offsite they will have to decide whether to go home to vote or stay where they are, renouncing to exercise their right to vote. While waiting for politics to finally remedy a problem that arises with every call to the polls without anyone really worrying about solving it, those who can and want to return to their municipality of residence can take advantage of discounts and concessions on the cost of tickets to reach the voting locations by plane or train.

Fuorisede: discounts on trains for the elections of 25 September

Those who need to reach their municipality of residence by train can take advantage of discounts and concessions thanks to the agreements stipulated between the ministry and the companies.

Particularly Trenitalia will allow the purchase of second-class round-trip tickets valid for “everyone national service trains and for the Standard level of Frecciarossa”, with a 70% discount on the base price for national medium-long distance trains (Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Frecciabianca, Intercity and IntercityNotte) and couchette service and 60% on tickets for trains Regionals. Anyone wishing to take advantage of the discount can purchase a one-way ticket until 15 September and a return ticket until midnight on the tenth day following the vote. All you have to do is present an identity document and electoral card at the time of purchase and to the crew. For the return journey, however, it will be necessary to show the electoral card stamped with a certificate from the section president certifying participation in the vote. Discounts are also available from TreNord. 

Italo instead, it will make available to non-residents an 60% discount provided that the ticket is purchased online between 16 and 25 September for the outward journey, and between 25 September and 5 October for the return journey. On the return journey, the electoral card stamped at the polling station must be shown to the inspector. 

Off-site: discounts for those returning "home" by plane

Also Italy Airways makes discounted tickets available to non-residents. The discount will be equal at 50% of the basic rate for domestic flights, 40% on the base rate for international flights and 25% on the base rate on intercontinental routes. The offer applies to purchased tickets from the August 30 to the September 25 for travel between 22 and 28 September. The purchase can be made on the Ita airways site, by filling out the booking form on the dedicated page, or through the company's call centre, travel agencies and airport ticket offices.

At the time of boarding, the passenger must show his own electoral card which must be duly stamped upon return.
