TIM and Fujitsu have launched a round table to share their expertise on Quantum-inspired Computing, 5G and Blockchain. The goal is to increase the performance of the TIM network. Focus on TIM's 5G networks already present in Italy.

Fujitsu and TIM: together for innovation with 5G and Blockchain

Fujitsu Italia and TIM have started a "think table", with the innovation of networks and the development of value-added services at the center, taking advantage of the features of the 5G and technologies such as Blockchain and Quantum-inspired Computing.

The purpose of the partnership is to create a technological bond to search for latest generation networking solutions based on emerging technologies such as 5G, Quantum-inspired Computing and Blockchain, to try to enhance the current TIM infrastructure.

Thanks to an approach of co-creation, Fujitsu and TIM will make the most of the potential of 5G networks and accelerate digital transformation in strategic sectors such as automotive, utilities, finance and manufacturing.

With the use of technology Blockchain, will explore innovative ways to enable 5G networks, IoT connectivity and fund prevention.

“We are proud to be able to boast such a long collaboration with a prestigious company like TIM,” he commented Massimiliano Ferrini, Head of Product Business of Fujitsu Italy. “This new 'co-creation' project, which can also be seen as a sort of joint research and development laboratory, will allow us to reach new levels of innovation in the networking arena, thanks to 5G, Blockchain and Quantum-inspired Fujitsu computing, which leverages the Digital Annealer solution, capable of processing complex scenarios with greater accuracy – releasing results of orders of magnitude higher than the Moore generation – than today's traditional computers. These are emerging technologies, destined to change the dynamics of many business sectors in the coming years”.

“The potential for applying these emerging technologies, which will deliver ever-increasing value to our customers in terms of network infrastructure quality, is enormous,” he commented. Lucy Lombardi, Head of Digital and Ecosystem Innovation at TIM. “5G represents an unprecedented innovation in networks traditional and offers the opportunity to develop new digital services that take full advantage of the new infrastructures. In order to address these opportunities, it is essential to consolidate an ecosystem with distinctive players such as Fujitsu, which contribute their excellence to innovation in infrastructure and services”.
