Starting from Monday 20 March, Banca Generali will take the place of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena in the Ftse Mib index, the basket that includes the 40 stocks with the highest capitalization on the Piazza Affari list. The official decision came this evening, after some rumors gave a tight runoff with another big favorite of the eve, the Bolognese multiutility Hera spa.
Banca Generali, which closed its session today with a gain of more than 2% at 23,29 euros per share, is back from a rally which in the last six months has allowed the stock to gain almost 30%.
In mid-November 2016, the bank led by Gian Maria Mossa celebrated its first 10 years on the Stock Exchange with annual funding of 5 billion and a total return of 300%, both due to the growth of the stock and the rich dividends.
