Fs, off to privatisation. It starts from 40% and public network

This morning the Council of Ministers “has started the privatization procedure for Ferrovie dello Stato”. This was announced at the end of the flash meeting by the Minister of Transport, Graziano Delrio, specifying that the share of Fs for sale cannot exceed 40% and will go "to widespread shareholders and institutional investors".

This is the start of a process that "will be concluded in the coming weeks - added Delrio - and which takes into account some issues: the railway infrastructure will have to remain public, because access to all must be guaranteed equally”. This means that the network should be spun off from the FS group to ensure the independence of those who manage it. The minister then assured that "particular attention will be paid to the participation of employees of the FS group, a group that will once again produce excellent results this year".

Meanwhile, the Presidency of the Council has also given the preliminary go-ahead to a legislative decree for regulatory simplification, which is now being examined by the parliamentary commissions, which have thirty days to express their opinion. This is an implementing provision of the Public Administration delegation which cancels the rules that came into force after 31 December 2011. In essence, a work of administrative relief to cancel the dated (non-legislative) provisions now deemed useless by the Government.

“With this provision – commented the Minister of Reforms, Mary Helen Woods – we are going to repeal 45 decrees and establish 12-15 changes to be made. It is a very important signal with respect to the attention we pay to parliamentary work but also to everything that begins when Parliament has finished its work. We show all our commitment to go even faster in implementation to complete the reform of the Public Administration as soon as possible, just as in one year we have fully implemented the implementation of the labor market reform".
