The Board of Directors of Ferrovie dello Stato has unanimously given the go-ahead for the reorganization of Grandi Stazioni. The non-proportional demerger of the business branches of Grandi Stazioni is envisaged, the assets of which will flow into two newly established joint-stock companies. 

The Board has entrusted the managing director, Michele Mario Elia, with all the preparatory activities, including the preparation of the drafts of the demerger agreement and the related agreements between the shareholders and the call for tenders, which will be submitted to the approval of the FS Board of Directors . 

For the purpose of preparing the demerger project, the board resolved not to waive the report of the experts whose appointment will be requested with a specific request to the Court.

Furthermore, Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane announced that it has formalized the appointment of McKinsey & Company, as lead partner, in a temporary business association with Ernst & Young Financial Business Advisors Spa and The Brattle Group Limited Italian Branch as industrial advisors for the process of privatization of FS.
