FS Urban Systems, company of Italian FS Group, presented today in Turin, during the event “The Turin to come”, the asset of turin Lingotto to the city and potential investors. The goal of the meeting was illustrate all the potential for use and redevelopment of this important site, which is part of a wider transformation process that will involve the city in the coming years.
The redevelopment project of Turin Lingotto
turin Lingotto represents an important investment opportunity in an area in constant development, characterized by high accessibility and a concentration of strategic functions, which offers different possibilities of intended use. It is possible to think of the construction of new residential buildings, such as affordable housing or university residences, as well as the development of innovative activities, services for people and businesses, and structures of general interest. The redevelopment of this site could also lead to the creation of a new "Stazione Ponte", which would connect the area undergoing transformation with the Lingotto railway station.
Il urban regeneration project, known as the "Health, Research and Innovation Park", involves various institutions and attracting poles, including the skyscraper of the new headquarters of the Region, the Turin Polytechnic and the Oval Lingotto sports centre. Furthermore, the construction of a new hospital and the development of the lot owned by FS Sistemi Urbani “Turin Lingotto” are planned.
The future “Bridge Station”
The future "Bridge Station" will represent an important intermodal hub of exchange, connecting the M1 line to via Nizza, the railway pedestrian underpass, the FS Sistemi Urbani area, the Porta Nuova high-speed railway station and the Porta Susa station. The transformation of the Lingotto is considered one of the most interesting interventions in the redevelopment project of the Turin railway yards, thanks to its size and accessibility.
In Turin, FS Sistemi Urbani has already successfully completed various urban redevelopment processes including that of cComplex of the former Turin Porta Susa station, which was sold in February 2019 for the construction of a new hotel complex.
