Mercitalia Rail, company of Logistics Hub of the FS Group, was awarded the Eni race for the transport of biofuels HVO and other chemical and petroleum products by rail.
In detail, Mercitalia has been awarded services concerning Eni and its companies Enilive and Versalis, relating to the transport of LPG, HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil), ETBE and butene, mainly on various routes in Italy.
“We are proud to have won four tenders with such an important player as Eni – declared Sabrina De Filippis, CEO of Mercitalia Logistics. – An award that confirms the ability of the FS Logistics Hub to operate in all sectors and underlines its role as a major player in rail freight transport. Thanks to this contract, Mercitalia Rail will transport approximately 80 thousand tons of product each year, taking over 3000 tank trucks off the road”.
The service, which involves the creation of completely dedicated trains using tanker iron, has a three-year duration with the possibility of an extension for a further 2 years.
