Fs, over 4.000 hires by 2019

The CEO of FS, Gianfranco Battisti, declared that "an important generational turnover process has already been launched which will be consolidated in the year that has just begun with over 4 hires, of which 450 for Anas".

“We have ambitious plans for the future of the company and our employees,” he said Gianfranco Battisti, managing director of FS during his greeting to Anas' "Canton Worker's Day", announcing that within the year there will be over 4 hires by the group that merged with Anas. In illustrating the guidelines of the Business Plan, Battisti highlighted that "an important generational turnover process has already been launched which will be consolidated in the year that has just begun with over 4 thousand hires, of which 450 for Anas, all from the market. Recruitments that will affect all operational and strategic sectors of the company. Station masters, train drivers and conductors, but also maintenance workers of trains and railway and road infrastructures, without forgetting the hiring envisaged for enhance assistance and security for people who choose the train to get around every day and for new drivers and in the logistics and goods sectors.”

The hiring plan, which involves all the operating companies of the group “because people are the real strength of companies”, underlined Gianfranco Battisti addressing the Anas construction workers, will allow to consolidate the generational turnover, which has already begun, for the professional figures with greater industrial and productive value. The new hiring plan will give many young graduates and people with already consolidated experience the opportunity to work in one of the largest industrial groups, number one in Italy for investments.

The sectors involved in the recruitment are those closely linked to rail transport, the company's core business and the center of all activities. In particular, around two thousand people will be selected for roles such as train drivers, train conductors, station masters, travellers' assistance and security. More than a thousand new recruits will instead be employed in the maintenance of trains and infrastructure, guaranteeing the constant improvement of the performance of rail transport in terms of reliability, availability and punctuality.

Furthermore, new entries are expected in sectors considered strategic in the new five-year Business Plan: in logistics, 600 people will be employed in Polo Mercitalia engaged in the revitalization of rail freight transport; in LPT, 250 new drivers will travel on Busitalia vehicles to improve the quality standards of urban and extra-urban transport in the regions where FS Italiane carries out the service.

Alongside the hiring planned for 2019, the FS Italiane Group also announces the continuation of collaborations and partnerships with some of the most prestigious Italian universities with the aim of encouraging the approach to the world of work of thousands of recent graduates, largely in engineering disciplines, and discover talents who can grow and develop their skills.
