Fs: Naples-Bari will bring 20 jobs

Connecting the country with high-speed rail brings benefits to the economy and more jobs. Especially if this happens in the South. The CEO of Ferrovie dello Stato, Gianfranco Battisti, is convinced of this, commenting on the construction of the Naples-Bari line as follows: "The construction of the high-speed railway Bari-Naples will bring about 20 new jobs between indirect and indirect over the next few years”, argued the manager on the sidelines of today's meeting in Grottaminarda, in the province of Avellino, held close to the start of work on the new Apice-Orsara high-speed route.

“The High Capacity railway – continued Battisti – will create the conditions for a double pole at the national level represented by these two large cities of the South which will allow them to compete at the international level, with a catchment area which vale 5,5 million potential customers out of 10 million inhabitants in the area”. The works on the section are divided into two lots, which also include the construction of the Hirpinia station on the border between the Irpinia municipalities of Grottaminarda and Ariano Irpino.

Battisti took stock of the investments underway by Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane with the business plan 2019-2023, with particular attention to the South, also to Sicily and Calabria: “Out of 58 billion in the 2019-2023 investment plan, 38% is destined for the South. We plan to reduce 400 cars on the road by 2023. We are the eco-sustainable mode of transport par excellence", he added, referring to the climate emergency which was discussed in the European Parliament
