Mercitalia Rail, a company of the Logistics Hub of the FS Group, has started the connections for the rail transport of the new trains for the Milan Metro.
The trains are produced by Hitachi Rail in the Reggio Calabria plant and will be used by ATM for the M1 line in Milan.
Over the next few years I am 46 trips planned from the capital of Calabria to the Lombardy capital to transfer the same number of trains. Each transported convoy is composed of 6 boxes and two shield wagons, has a length of about 106 meters and a weight of over 180 tons. The trains, once they arrive at Milano Smistamento via rail, are then transferred to the Precotto and Rogoredo depots with exceptional road transport.
The services are part of a race awarded by Hitachi Rail to Mercitalia Rail in recent months which consolidates its leadership in the exceptional and special rail transport sector.
