“The Italian government is evaluating a quotation, for 2016, of approximately 40%” of the State Railways. This was stated by Michele Mario Elia, managing director of the group, speaking in Brussels on the occasion of the Ambrosetti Forum 'Observatory on Europe'.
Elia then illustrated the privatization processes already underway for the company Grandi Stazioni and for part of the electricity grid that will be sold to Terna: “Grandi Stazioni will be split into three – GS Rail, GS Retail and GS Immobiliare. The commercial, retail part will be on sale. If we respect the times we could do it within the year. We are working to conclude all the preparatory phases. Soon, we will launch the expression of interest. In the autumn we may be able to move on to the actual call for tenders”.
