FS will issue 1,7 billion bonds to buy new trains

1,750 billion of new bonds to buy new trains. The board of directors of FS Italiane has given the green light to issue new bonds for a maximum amount of 1,750 million.

The issues, under the Emtn program on the Dublin Stock Exchange, will be reserved for institutional investors.

The money raised, according to what can be read in the note from the company led by Gianfranco Battisti, will be used to buy new trains "for regional and medium and long-distance transport". Not only does FS intend to purchase new locomotives for the transport of goods and to complete the high-speed/high-capacity railway infrastructure, going to finance the needs for the investments envisaged by the FS Italiane group.

As part of the new issues, the issue of new "green bonds" is also envisaged, which will mainly finance the purchase of new trains for regional transport.
