Fs-Bei: meeting to finance green projects

Ferrovie dello Stato pushes towards greenery and sustainability. After the launch of the two green bonds envisaged by the Framework created in March 2018, the group led by Gianfranco Battisti prepares the measures to be included in the business plan.

To this end, CEO Battisti met Dario Scannapieco, Vice President of the EIB, the European Investment Bank, on Monday 23 September.

The dialogue between the two managers focused precisely on the green projects that the FS Group will develop with its 2019-2023 Business Plan under the banner of social, economic and environmental sustainability, and the possibility of finding in the EIB the financial institution capable to collaborate in their implementation.

"FS's Business Plan is characterized by green and sustainable investments and fits perfectly with the interests of the EIB, a pioneering institution for sustainable finance and historically close to the activities of the FS Group in financing new infrastructure and the purchase of trains", reads the note of Fs.

The FS and EIB experts, working jointly, will therefore try to identify investments ready to be financed according to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) logics, "looking carefully at the ethical and social and environmental responsibility implications of the projects", continues the Note.
