“Innovation, technology and digitization are fundamental factors for promoting the country's sustainable development and guaranteeing better quality, punctuality and efficiency for people. In fact, digital offers an enormous possibility of change and discontinuity”: this is how he spoke the Chief Executive Officer of FS Italiane Gianfranco Battisti, speaking in Milan on digital and recalling that in the 2019-2023 Business Plan of 58 billion euros of investments, the railway group has foreseen as many as 6 just for digitization.
“It is a challenge that managers must be able to understand, accept and anticipate by becoming ambassadors of a new model of growth and development. A participants' vision that the FS Italiane Group is pursuing with the Industrial Plan: in this direction we created FS Technology, company hi-tech which aims to enhance and support innovation and position the FS Group as a hub of digital innovation and a point of reference for technology community of the world of mobility and sensitive infrastructures. This makes it possible to make a decisive change to the company's processes and organization and to respond to people's needs and requirements by providing a personalized service”.
Fs, recalled Battisti, carries 1 billion passengers every year and has built and successfully manages the Italian high-speed network, which celebrated its 2019th birthday in 10 and has become a reference model in Europe and around the world. “Finally, the FS Italiane Group is the largest Italian investor, with approximately 7 billion euros of average investments per year, starting from 2019, which will continue to grow in the coming years up to 13 billion euros per year in 2023”.
