Debora Serracchiani (Pd) is the new president of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. Outgoing governor Renzo Tondo (PDL) telephoned around 9 last night to congratulate his opponent, who prevailed in the local elections by a handful of votes, less than two thousand: 39,39% against 39,00% . Disappointment for the 5 Stars: "We expected something more", admitted the candidate Saverio Galluccio, who remained below 20% (at 19,21%).

The final voter turnout was 50,51%, a sharp drop from that of the previous elections, which had been 72,33%. In 2008, however, there was a vote for both regional and political elections. Two months ago, on the other hand, on the occasion of the political elections, the turnout for the votes in the Chamber was 77,19%. 

In the district of Trieste 97.369 voted (45,86%), in that of Gorizia 63.089 (52,61%), in that of Udine, where the Municipality of Udine and the Province were also voted, 218.029 (53,46% ), in Tolmezzo 38.327 (46,67%), in Pordenone 138.496 (49,99%).
