 The 8th edition of Friuli Doc, one of the greenest regions in Italy. The event will continue until Sunday 11 September sponsored by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and PromoTurismoFVG. A showcase for food and wine excellence of a "frontier" territory where the agricultural-productive system shares the principles of the circular economy. The primary value of the event for the promoters lies precisely in not presenting a single product or a single sector, but the culture, traditions, wine and gastronomic experiences of Friuli.
Udine headquarters, therefore, of an event that involves trade associations and a plurality of subjects from various backgrounds . On the other hand, the summer season marked record numbers for tourists and related activities. A synergy between city and territory - says the Region - that looks ahead after the complicated period of the pandemic. In the last year there has been a change of pace in promotion, with major investments in television networks and the main national newspapers. Marketing operations that have led Friuli Venezia Giulia to exceed the number of tourists of the pre-pandemic period and to climb the national rankings. The Region - says the latest Demoskopea survey - is perceived as such safe destination in the post-pandemic phase mainly because environmentally friendly and low congestion. “Among the winning drivers of the destination's reputation level are the good price/quality ratio of the offer, the ease of reaching it for the holiday, the natural attractions and the historical, artistic and cultural heritage and the food and wine tradition. ” The Region is among the most virtuous in theItalian export.

The news of the 28th edition

Among the novelties of this year thein the presence of the Udine Cooking restaurants which are added to the traditional taverns to offer local menus at Km 0, consequences of sustainable organic agriculture. Visitors will be able to wander throughout the city center enriched by stands, show cooking exhibitions, meetings, concerts, tasting areas, workshops, shows and exhibitions. Among the excellences are the tastings of San Daniele and Montasio ham, specialties of the mountains, hills and sea, plants, mushrooms, spices, fruit and vegetables. It must be said that this year the Region was hit by a severe drought with a tropical climate. Winegrowers in particular are trying to install new irrigation systems to maintain the quality of the products they export all over the world. The Region has welcomed the requests of the producers, which has allocated 18 million euros for the creation of water reservoirs where historically water for irrigation was not needed. Fiuli doc will also give the signal of a good recovery.
