Franco Bernabè, one of the most famous Italian top managers with a past as leader in Eni and Telecom Italia and former president of CartaSì, is the new president of the Istituto Centrale delle Banche Popolari Italiane (Icbpi), the leading Italian banking group in the financial, e-money and payment services.
The appointment takes effect immediately and crowns the project to consolidate the leadership of the group which recently appointed Paolo Bertoluzzo, former head of Vodafone Italia, as the new CEO of ICBPI and CartaSì.
Bernabè's appointment, which has immediate effect, is the result of the change of ownership of the group following the entry of leading Italian and foreign private equity funds.
