France: S&P's confirms triple A

“We have confirmed and continue to confirm today the AAA rating with a stable outlook for France”. This was stated this morning by the president for French-speaking Europe of Standard & Poor's, Carole Sirou, in a radio interview. In recent days, the rating agency had downgraded its rating on the creditworthiness of the United States from AAA to AA+, also casting doubt on France's ability to maintain its credit rating.

Carole Sirous also stated that Paris has held a triple A rating since 1975 and, confirming the stable outlook, S&P's is "confident" that it will continue to maintain it - despite the disappointing results of the XNUMXnd trimester.
