France: privatizations for 10 billion to invest in innovation

This was announced by a source from the Ministry of Finance led by Bruno Le Maire. “There will be a sale of assets for an amount of 10 billion euros and it will mainly concern minority stakes in companies in the competitive sector. It will be done as soon as market conditions allow it”, explained the source, specifying that it will mostly concern minority shares.

France intends to sell state holdings worth 10 billion euros in order to finance innovation projects.

Emmanuel Macron therefore keeps the promises made in the electoral campaign. At the time, the current president had declared his intention to set up a 10 billion euro fund to promote industry and research projects. Yesterday, Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said that the sale of state assets will start in September.
