France better than expected: GDP +0,4% in the third quarter

In the third quarter, France's GDP grew beyond forecasts, reaching an encouraging point + 0,4 %. The positive result was mainly determined by private consumption.

The data was released by the transalpine statistical institute Insee, which also revised downwards the estimate on the trend for the April-June period: if previously a zero change was estimated, now the figures speak of a drop of 0,1% . Every year the French economy should anyway grow by 1,7%, close to government estimates (+1,75%).
