France, GDP grows more than expected: +0,5%

France's gross domestic product grew by 0,5% in the second quarter compared to the previous quarter, with an unexpectedly large improvement, the largest recorded since the first quarter of 2011. This was announced by the transalpine statistical institute Insee. The expansion recorded in the April-June period brings France out of recession, after two consecutive quarters of contraction in gross domestic product. The consensus of analysts envisaged only a slight positive change in GDP, at the level of 0,1 per cent.
