France, Hollande optimistic about 2015 growth: GDP +1%

The French economy will grow more than the 1% estimated by the government this year. French President Francois Hollande is optimistic and today presented new estimates for the current year.
“For 2015, the data for the first and second quarters allow us to say with certainty that growth will be greater than 1%,” Hollande said.
According to what was announced last week by the national institute of Statistics Insee, in the second quarter Paris recorded a zero change in GDP (below the expectations of economists, who converged on its median of +0,2%), after the growth of 0,7 .0,6% recorded in the first fraction of the year (revised by XNUMX%).
For next year, the government forecasts GDP growth of 1,5%. The government confirmed the 2 billion tax cut for next year. The president then confirmed the deficit reduction targets, intended to fall to 3,8% of GDP at the end of this year and 3,3% at the end of 2016.
The country's economic growth, he added speaking at a press conference, is recovering and could exceed the +1% of the official forecasts for 2015 GDP, but it is not strong enough to cope with the high unemployment rate. The forecast for 2016 will be maintained at +1,5%.
