France, Bettencourt case: Sarkozy, three searches by the police

Blitz by the French police on Nicolas Sarkozy. According to reports from the website of the newspaper Le Monde, the former number one of the Elysée underwent three searches today. The agents entered the new Parisian offices, the “Arnaud, Claude e associati” law firm (of which Sarkò has a share in his pocket) and even the home of Madame Carla Bruni.

The decision of the judicial authorities came as part of the investigation into the Bettencourt case.

Judge Gentil investigates some suspicious funds that the billionaire Liliane Bettencourt, L'Oreal heiress, would have paid to the former Head of State. Bribes that would have served above all to finance the electoral campaign for the presidential elections won by Sarkozy in 2007. The immunity which Sarkozy has enjoyed up to now ended on 16 June.
