Photovoltaic, shopping time: the race for Glenmont's 85 MW is starting

Italian photovoltaic market in turmoil in these last hot days of July. Although the sector is not part of those involved in the sales, even in the world of clean energy it is time to go shopping.

After the end of the tender for the Rtr, which has not failed to reserve more than one twist, now is the time to think about the one for the photovoltaic parks of Glenmont Partners, the British infrastructure fund which controls over 330 MW of wind farms and about 85 MW in our country of photovoltaic.

In fact, according to the latest rumors, Glenmont would have put the latter up for sale, proceeding with the sale of three packages: the 48 MW of the Serenissima project and two respectively of 24 MW and 13 MW.

The Italian utilities do not seem to have any intention of letting the summer opportunity slip by, so much so that the offers are already flocked. This was revealed by "Il Sole 24 Ore", according to which the value of the operation could be higher than 300 million euro. Three homegrown companies that have already submitted a proposal, ie Erg, A2a and Tages.

F2i remains out of the game with the joint venture Ef Solare set up together with Enel. The fund led by Renato Ravanelli enjoys the "victory" against Sonnedix in the race for the Rtr plants. The official announcement also arrived on July 26: F2i has been awarded the 334 MW of photovoltaic plants put up for sale by Terra Firma, assisted in the deal by Jefferies, JP Morgan, UniCredit , Gianni Origoni Grippo Cappelli&Partners and Moroni&Partners.

A huge operation for the Italian market: to buy the assets, F2i has put 1,3 billion euros on the plate, a figure that has allowed it to climb onto the podium of the big European photovoltaics. As Ravanelli underlined: “thanks to the overall scale of production achieved with this acquisition, equal to over 800 Mw, F2i becomes the third largest European producer of electricity from solar energy”.
