World World Organization presents the juries of the Sony World Photography Awards 2019, one of the most important photography competitions in the world.

La World Photography Organization also publishes the opening list of participating countries for the 2019 National Awards. Sony World Photography Awards with the National Awards for participants of all levels and from over 50 countries, a unique opportunity to be recognized in a photography competition of international fame.

Now in its twelfth edition, i Sony World Photography Awards celebrate the best contemporary photography of the last 12 months across all genres.

The 2019 judging panels specially selected by the World Photography Organization are represented by experts working in the photography industry. This year's panel, which will judge series in 10 categories of the Professional competition, is made up of industry leaders from around the world:

Erin Barnett, Director of Exhibitions and Collections, International Center of Photography (USA)

Brendan Embser, Managing Editor, Aperture (USA)

Emma Lewis, Assistant Curator, Tate (UK)

Isabella van Marle, Exhibitor Relations Manager, Unseen (The Netherlands)

Chair: Mike Trow, editor, photographer, producer (UK)

President Mike Trow comments:
"It is an honor to be asked to chair the judging panels for the professional competition of the Sony World Photography Awards. What makes the Sony World Photography Awards so exciting is the range of subjects of the shortlisted stories and images. My advice to entrants is to choose your categories carefully and believe in their story. (Show how you see the world and avoid the cliché). Techniques and styles in photography are becoming more and more adventurous and dynamic, so technical excellence is also needed“.

The Open competition, judging a single image in 10 categories will be chaired by Rebecca McClelland, director of photography and head of art production for Saatchi Saatchi & Prodigious (UK), who will also chair the Youth and National Awards competitions.

While the competition dedicated to students will also be judged by 3 jurors from the international photography sector: Jason Baron, creative director of photography, BBC Creative (UK); Bruno Bayley, Managing Editor, Magnum Photos (UK) and Jeff Hamada, Founder & Editor, BOOOOOOOM (Canada)
