A photography exhibition in Gressoney-Saint-Jean in Valle d'Aosta Entitled “Highsight – Photography at high altitudes” which takes us inside the lens of two photographers who have been able to interpret the valley in a different way and is unconventional.

An unpublished story that of Fati Abubakar, Nigerian and Cage onaka, Japanese, artists of international renown, who lead us to observe uncontaminated nature, the architecture and the human capital of a fascinating place like the mountain of Valle of Aosta, already the destination of many photographers who have always documented not only Monte Rosa but also the villages and ancient castles, the Walser culture and traditions: the Gressoney region.

The show is scheduled until to 22 April 2019 at the Beck Peccoz Regional Museum of Alpine Fauna in Gressoney-Saint-Jean.

Fati Abubakar she first visited Gressonay last July and is the only female Nigerian photographer from Borno State, Nigeria. Photographer documentary filmmaker, photojournalist and humanitarian worker in campo of public health. Nigerian, born in 1986, she was born and raised in Maiduguri, nello Stateo from Borno. She has a nursing degree and a master's degree in public health and promozionor health. He uses photography as a means to document reality, cultures, conflicts, urban poverty, rural development and highlight their problems at the community level. Its goal is to give voice to the “ulast”. Which onaka instead he stayed in Gressoney last September and is a Japanese photographer who has been active on the international art scene for more than 35 years. Originally from Fukuoka, after having approached photography thanks to the master Daido Moriyama, in 1982 he graduated from the Tokyo Photograph College (now Tokyo Visual Arts). In the footsteps of Moriyama he began to frequent the CAMP gallery, founded by Ikeda's master and here, in 1983, he exhibited for the first time one of his works dedicated to lost childhood memories. In 1988 he opened the Kaido Gallery in Tokyo, a personal space where he exhibited his works, including a series of 32 exhibitions over a period of 4 years "Seitaka-awadachiso", at the end of which he published his first photo book. His color and black-and-white images, captured in his explorations of rural Japan during frequent travels, have won admirers at home and abroad. His work, exclusively made on films developed and printed by the artist, it has appeared in various solo and group exhibitions in Japan and Europe. Koji Onaka, alongside his personal work, supports young Japanese photographers: he was responsible for the Kaido gallery and the photographic magazine of the same name and is also a curator and publisher.
