in 2015 Città di Castello (PG), on 12 March, day of birth of Alberto Burri, was celebrated on the centenary of the birth of Alberto Burri, thus establishing an anniversary which is remembered every year with a event set up and realized in the spaces of the Museum dedicated to him in the Ex Seccatoi del Tabacco.
This year's occasion “OBJECTIVES ON BUTTERS. Photographs and photo-portraits of Alberto Burri from 1954 to 1993” see one reconnaissance on the majors and professionals of photography who have portrayed Burri portrayed in different moments of his life.
On the occasion of this exhibition they will be open to the public another 2.300 square meters of new museum environments restored at the Ex Seccatoi, in which initiatives aimed at deepening the study and knowledge of the work of Alberto Burri and the influence he exerted on contemporary art will also take place. Among the numerous professional photographers present in the exhibition with photographic works by Aurelio Amendola, Gabriele Basilico, Giorgio Colombo, Vittor Ugo Contino, Plinio De Martiis, Gianfranco Gorgoni, Mimmo Jodice, Giuseppe Loy, Ugo Mulas, Josephine Powell, Sanford H. Roth, William Sandberg, Federico Scianna, Michael A. Vaccaro, André Villers , Sandro Visca, Arturo Zavattini and others.
The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog edited by the Foundation with images by the selected photographers, contextualised by essays and critical contributions by Bruno Corà, Aldo Iori, Rita Olivieri and Chiara Sarteanesi, bibliographic apparatuses and biographical cards of the photographers, written by Greta Boninsigni.
The exhibition, which will be inaugurated on 12 March 2019, will remain open until 12 September next.
