The Formula 1 championship is about to change owners. This was announced by the Financial Times which announced an agreement concluded with "a handshake" between the current owners and one USA-Qatar consortium. According to rumors from the City, the official sale should be announced within 30 days from today. Total value of the transaction 8,5 billions of dollars.

The current shareholders of Formula 1, Bernie Ecclestone managing director and the CVC investment fund, would therefore be ready to sell the world car championship business. The operation, however, could only concern the ownership not but the management of Formula 1. The consortium of buyers is made up of Stephen Ross, the US tycoon who owns the Miami Dolphin American football team, from the Qatar Sport authority, the financial arm of the Emirs and the German media group Constantin Medien, supported by a mysterious Chinese partner.

In the plans of the new owners there may be an expansion of the calendar for racing more races in the United States and the Middle East.
