Formula 1: at Monza Hamilton tries to reach Rosberg while Vettel dreams of victory

The circus of the formula 1 reaches its twelfth appointment, the one most awaited by Italian enthusiasts and Ferrari fans: the weekend of the Monza GP.

The appointment with the Grand Prix on the Brianza circuit is one of the cornerstones of the Formula 1 world championship like the race in the Principality of Monaco, or the one on the splendid Belgian circuit of Spa-Francorchamps or even like the race in Brazil at Interlagos. But in recent months the number 1 of Formula 1 Bernie Ecclestone has seriously questioned the permanence of the Italian appointment in the F1 calendar for the next few years. In fact, in 2016 the agreement with the F1 organizers expires and today there is the risk of not seeing an F1 GP in Monza starting from the 2017 season. The point is linked to the excessive costs to remain in the elite of the Circus. Those involved in organizing the Monza GP have asked for a review of the terms of the agreement but Ecclestone's side are inflexible. "There's a contract, all they have to do is find a pen," says the Formula 1 boss.

Returning to the motoring weekend, there are two central themes to highlight on the eve of Monza Grand Prix next Sunday: the internal struggle between the Mercedes of Hamilton and Rosberg and the potential of Vettel who is the third wheel in the duel within the German team. The German champion, ex Red Bull, is looking for redemption after the unfortunate Spa race in which he retired with three laps to go due to a tire blowout.

In any case, Hamilton and Rosberg remain the super favorites for Sunday's Monza race with the Briton looking to stretch even further in the standings against his rival. For his part, Nico Rosberg knows well that he has to play his last chances to still be able to undermine the reigning world champion. On the eve of the weekend, the English driver, who showed up at Monza with bleached hair, manages a 28-point lead over Rosberg in the standings and a good 67 over the Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel. The prediction indicates that Hamilton is the favorite driver in Sunday's race but at Ferrari they are dreaming of victory in front of their own fans. With a perfect start and strategy from the dream, one could actually move on to champagne.
